A unique event will draw significant numbers to Calabogie Peaks on Saturday August 24th, weather permitting.
Jim Hemlin, Chief Operating Officer of the resort, sought approval from Greater Madawaska Township Council on July 15th, and that’s really all the preparatory work he had to do to get ready for Lights Fest.
The Calabogie Peaks COO says the night skies will be aglow at the function, as each participant will light and send aloft a Chinese candle.
Hemlin says if the weather doesn’t cooperate, organizers will reschedule and inform attendees.
The Chinese candles are made of biodegradable materials, and event organizers take care of any clean-up.
