Last Thursday, the province named a special advisor on flooding to help communities recover faster after being hit by extreme weather.
MPP John Yakabuski says Doug McNeil is a former Manitoba Deputy minister who has also held senior positions at the Manitoba Floodway Authority.
Yakabuski, who is also the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, says McNeil can only do so much, as the Ottawa River goes through a few different jurisdictions.
The MNRF Minister says he’s written to his counterparts in Ottawa and Quebec City, seeking a joint investigation of concerns along the waterway.
