Two local entrepreneurs have struck upon what they believe is a winning combination. Jim Hemlin, the Chief Operating Officer of Calabogie Peaks Resort, and Walter Willett, President of Horse Country Campground located at Wilderness Tours in Whitewater Region, are teaming up on a Canadian first – an Equestrian Community.
The duo appeared at Greater Madawaska Council Monday to outline their plan for a piece of land 136 acres behind Calabogie Peaks Village.
Each dwelling would be accompanied by a horse barn on the individual lots, along with a shared indoor arena, which would be bordered by a potential thousand acre trail system.
If all goes well with the regulatory paperwork, lots would be marketed this fall, with construction beginning in 2021.
