Statistics Canada has released the employment number for the month of June. In our area, the economic region that stretches from Pembroke to Kingston, unemployment stood at 4.9 percent last month.
This compares with a figure of 5.1 percent in May, and 5.3 percent one year ago.
Nationwide, the Unemployment rate was 5.5 percent in June of this year.
