Celtfest in Almonte gets underway this evening, continuing through Sunday.
Organizer Susan Ryan says you’ll have to open your wallet tonight at Gemmill Park to catch the stellar entertainment, but Saturday and Sunday are a bargain, as admission is by donation.
The Rats D’Swompe kick things off at 7PM tonight, with the Mudmen taking the stage at 830PM.
On Saturday, choir and dance performances begin just past Noon, with fiddler Anna Ludlow of Come-From-Away fame, taking the stage around 3PM, and Ashley MacIssac performing at 8:30PM.
Sunday things begin with a mass at Holy Name of Mary Parish, at 10:30, with fidllers, dancers and musical acts on the Gemmill Park stage from Noon to 430PM.
