The Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre has received a large donation from the Nuclear Laboratory Partners of Canada (NLPC), the operating manager of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.
The company is giving the Centre a $10,000 donation to help advance its educational programming and outdoor learning opportunities.
NLPC’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs Eric McGoey says “the Shaw Woods Centre’s programs provide opportunities for students to learn about local ecosystems, conservation, and sustainable environmental practices while promoting physical activity and outdoor exploration. NLPC recognizes that organizations like Shaw Woods play an important role in building healthy and vibrant communities by providing meaningful educational experiences and fostering a lifelong connection to nature”.
Steve Boland, Co-Chair of the Shaw Woods Board of Directors said “This sponsorship by the NLPC is greatly appreciated and will help us continue to deliver the programs that teach our youth and community members about the importance of our natural environment and the need to protect and preserve it for future generations.”
