Costumed kids enjoy the Monster Mash Dance during Freaky Friday 2025 (Town of Renfrew Photo, Facebook)
A spooky weekend in Renfrew kicks off with a little help from businesses in the downtown core.
Families are invited to kick off their Halloween haunting during Freaky Friday, which Downtown Renfrew BIA Vice-Chair Lorraine Vincent says will see the heart of the community come alive for a magical evening focused on hocus pocus and all with witches, wizards, and warlocks.
What started out years ago as an opportunity for Renfrew’s youngest to do a little early treat gathering has grown to include the broader community, who work together each year to turn Raglan Street South into a full-on Halloween experience.
This year, residents will get to enjoy stops at the Seance Square outside town hall, the Pathways Coven, Prophecy Passage at the library, an enchanted magical alley near A Sense of County, and a Monster Mash dance at the Renfrew Legion, as well as a Witches Walk starting from the nearby Renfrew and District Food Bank.
Other businesses will also join in the fun, getting the chance to catch up with the community while helping out with trick-or-treating throughout the evening.
Families are encouraged to dress up in their best witch, wizard, and warlock costumes and enjoy the night with friends and neighbours.
Vincent also asks that everyone attending do their part to keep the night a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone by following along with safety measures that will be in place.
Freaky Friday gets underway this Friday, October 30 at 5:00 pm.
