New provincial funding aims to get paramedics back on the road faster after they drop a patient off at the E.R.
The Ontario government has announced a seven per cent increase in land ambulance funding in Renfrew County, along with another $163,000 to hire nurses and other staff to help offload patients in hospital emergency departments.
Off-loading delays have been a concern in many areas. Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP Billy Denault says by investing in programs such as the Dedicated Offload Nurses Program, the government is helping paramedics get back out into the community sooner, ensuring residents across Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke can continue to access the emergency care they need.
