Business leaders from across the Ottawa Valley are engaged in serious discussions about the current state of our local economy.
That includes a recent roundtable meeting for the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce led by Executive Director Sandra Swain, where members spent a full morning sharing their views on current barriers to local tourism like a lack of hotel space in Renfrew, workforce development and retention, and the growing impact that U.S. tariffs have already had on how local businesses operate.
Swain says there were many worthy takeaways from the discussion as the Chamber looks to reassure small businesses in Renfrew, Horton, Admaston/Bromley, and Greater Madawaska that they can look to them for support in the face of rising costs and economic uncertainty.
The information gathered will also be incredibly helpful for Swain and the Chamber as they press governments and community partners to take action and help the local economy thrive.
It will be a busy month for the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce, with their annual Pinnacle of Business Excellence Awards Banquet taking place at the Renfrew Wing this Friday, October 23.
