A long-time township councillor in Admaston-Bromley says it’s going to take more than a little belt tightening to tackle the lack of funding from Queen’s Park.
Brian Hamilton, one of three candidates for mayor of Admaston-Bromley, says the decline in provincial funding coupled with rising costs is making it difficult to enhance or even maintain services, and he’s not a proponent of cutting services.
So Hamilton says that leaves the next council no choice but to look to their neighbours for ways they can team up and save money.
Hamilton is a fifth generation farmer, whose family settled here in 1861.
He says he’s got the experience, background, knowledge, time and the interest in the future of Admaston-Bromley that you need in a mayor.
Hamilton says high taxes and lack of services are the two main complaints he hears when he speaks to residents and he’s encouraging everyone to find out where the candidates stand on those issues ahead of the municipal election.
Hamilton says if elected, he also plans to address the frequent complaints he hears from residents about waste management.
Hamilton has two competitors in the race for mayor – fellow Councillor Kevin Legris and Deputy Mayor Keith Gourley.
