After more than a hundred days on the picket line, employees of Community Living Renfrew County South appear to be heading back to work.
Community Living announced overnight on Wednesday, September 9, that an award has been issued in ongoing talks with union representatives at OPSEU Local 472, ending a strike that has affected day programming for families with developmental disabilities since late May.
In their statement, the organization acknowledges the impact the dispute has had within the community, adding that both parties “remain focused on the continuity of care for supported individuals.”
CLRCS would also note that they are driven by a commitment to the people they serve and the employees who make that care possible, adding they are returning to full services with the appreciation “for a community that continues to stand with us.”
