If your trip to the Shawville Fair took you into Haley Station over the weekend, you may have been asked to help a worthy cause on the way over the Ottawa River.
Members of the Haley Station Firefighters’ Association set up at the four corners of Chenaux Road, Storyland Road, and Queen’s Line to collect donations for their boot drive, which collected more than $6,700 in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada over the course of four hours on Saturday, September 5.
The association says that the money raised by filling up the boot will go towards “life-changing research and treatment for a wide range of challenges under the Muscular Dystrophy umbrella.”
