The town of Arnprior has plenty of reason to be buzzing with excitement.
Town staff recently announced that Arnprior has been officially designated as a “Bee City” by Bee City Canada, a group dedicated to establishing and maintaining healthy habitats for pollinators within communities.
The designation is part of a broader movement to support protections for pollinators such as bees currently being promoted across North America. It comes as Arnprior looks to restore its local habitat, having partnered with the Canadian Wildlife Federation to establish a pollinator meadow at the local marina in the fall of 2025.
Perennial gardens have also been installed at Town Hall and the Arnprior Library using native, drought-tolerant plants that require minimal maintenance, and the town notes that they promote pollinator friendly practices through education, habitat restoration, and sensible landscaping.
