Allyson Parkes and Harris Wade Photo sourced: Special Olympics Summer Games
Two local athletes have come up big at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
Harris Wade of the Arnprior Red Fish Swimming Club took home a silver medal. The Burnstown native competed in the 25 metre butterfly.
Allison Parkes of Griffith won a bronze medal in Bocce. This was her third trip to the Nationals.
The games were held from August 11th to the 15th in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
