Fair season in the Ottawa Valley continues this weekend thanks to the Arnprior Agricultural Society.
General Manager Stacy Howard welcomes guests to the Valley Agricultural Festival, which returns for another full day focused on the group’s mission to promote agricultural education to the Murray Yantha Community Centre in McNab/Braeside starting at 10:00 am this Saturday, August 8.
Local farmers and home crafters will be front and centre inside and outside the facility, with competitions and classes for everything from maple syrup and honey to vegetables, flowers, and more grown and made in the region.
Families will also enjoy live all-day entertainment and events like the popular RC car race course, a Mayor’s Mechanical Bull Riding Challenge featuring local municipal officials, and plenty of time dedicated to fuzzy, furry, and scaly friends from the farm.
Guests can also meet with local groups like the OPP, the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog program, and the local Men’s Shed, who are eager to connect with residents interested in leading community events and initiatives.
Admission to the event is free. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter the Renfrew County Fair 50/50 Jackpot Draw, with proceeds supporting the Arnprior, Cobden, and Renfrew Agricultural Society’s programming and events.
