Grieving youth got a boost from golfers gathering for a day of remembrance over the Civic Holiday weekend.
Madison Zohr says the Zohr Family Funeral Home’s first-ever Remembrance Golf Classic was a hit with players from across the Ottawa Valley, who took to the Renfrew Golf Club course on Friday, July 31, in support of the Young Griever’s Camp through the Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.
The Zohr’s were thrilled with the results from the day, with registration alone bringing in plenty of funds to help kids dealing with loss build connections and coping strategies at Camp Christie Lake near Perth, and even more generosity was shown on the course throughout the event.
What really impressed Madison and family was just how much love and support were shown by everyone who took part, regardless of where they may be in their own personal grief journeys.
Zohr says they are looking forward to bringing the Remembrance Classic over the Civic long weekend next year.
