Renfrew Victoria Hospital’s charitable arm is watching excitedly as Pat McGregor continues a monumental feat.
McGregor is midway through a trio of summer duathlons, running and biking a combined 100 kilometres over June, July, and August to celebrate 100 years of growth and innovation at RVH in hopes of raising $100,000.
RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough says McGregor has been doing well in the lead-up to the hospital hosting Pat for the final few kilometres at the end of August.
McGregor has spent the past few years raising money for various causes, including last year’s 30-for-30 duathlon to support the hospital’s dialysis unit. So far, this year’s push has rallied the community to raise over $12,000 on the foundation’s website alone, on top of donations coming in from friends, neighbours, and local organizations.
Dillabough says they appreciate the effort being put into supporting a long list of vital equipment upgrades that will improve the quality of care offered to patients from across the Ottawa Valley.
Donations for the 100-for-100 duathlon series or other RVH Foundation initiatives can be made at their office or online.
