A local hunter faces a hefty fine after being caught firing at ducks from a moving motorboat.
In a social media update for Ontario Fish and Wildlife, Rob Arnold with the Ministry of Natural Resources’ enforcement branch explains that conservation officers were patrolling near Cole’s Creek in Golden Lake back on September 28, 2025, at the time of the incident.
He adds that a deeper dive into the incident revealed the potentially dangerous behaviour on display.
The hunter, who is from Killaloe, pleaded guilty for violating regulations around hunting migratory birds. He was fined $2,500 and was banned from applying for a migratory game bird hunting permit for three years.
