Shawville author Luke Murphy will cap off the week with a brand new mystery for readers to enjoy.
“Dark Horse,” the fifth novel in Murphy’s Calvin Watters series, releases this Friday, June 26. Watters, a former football star turned private investigator, finds himself in the heart of the Deep South as he looks to uncover the lethal secrets of a town desperate to keep them hidden.
Dark Horse will be a departure from the usual for Watters, who will trade the bright lights of major cities like Los Angeles and Las Vegas for a community that Murphy says was inspired by his time growing up and living in the Ottawa Valley.
Among the major settings for the story is a trail based on Shawville’s PPJ Cycloparc track, which Murphy frequented on his way to high school. It’s a local connection that has left people in the area fascinated in the lead up to the book’s release.
The e-book version of Dark Horse is available for pre-order now on Amazon, and Murphy is considering a formal launch for the new title as part of a future paperback release.
