Renfrew Victoria Hospital will welcome some very special patients this weekend as an old fan-favourite event returns.
Local families are invited to the hospital’s Teddy Bear Picnic this Saturday, June 20, and while RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough says they will be in attendance, the credit for the day belongs to another member of RVH staff.
For the first time since before the pandemic, young residents can bring their favourite stuffed animals to the hospital grounds for a full morning of check-ups, including a beary eye exam, tooth check, pharmacy, X-ray, and lab activities.
It’s also a chance for the hospital to remember Dr. Bruce Strader, who spent 25 years caring for the community and their beloved teddy bears.
The event is free to attend and will also feature plenty of fun to keep kids busy, including colouring, cookie decorating, face painting, and more.
