The Town of Renfrew is ready to make some major changes to encourage more housing options in the community.
Town council will welcome the public to their next meeting on June 16 as they consider amending the current zoning by-law provisions for secondary dwellings to implement the additional dwelling unit policies of the Planning Act and Ontario Regulation 299/19.
The new policies would cover additional residential units within single detached, semi-detached, and multiple attached dwellings with the intention of increasing local housing options while ensuring they remain compatible with surrounding development.
Residents wishing to attend the public meeting are advised to register with town staff prior to the meeting. Alternatively, written comments can be sent to Planning Technician Ashlee Rathwell for use as part of the planning process.
