McNab-Braeside is poised to see races for Council positions on October 26th.
The Township will be electing a Mayor, Deputy Mayor and three councillors for the four-year term that begins November 15th.
Current Mayor Lori Hoddinott will be opposed by Oliver Jacob, making another run for the Chief Executive’s Job after placing second in 2022.
Hoddinott successfully ran for the Deputy Mayor’s job to begin this term four years ago, but was elevated to the Mayoral position following the resignation of Mark Mackenzie.
Present Deputy Mayor Scott Brum will be opposed by a familiar name.
Tom Peckett is making another bid to serve on Township Council, after placing third in the bid to hold the top job in 2022.
There are currently two nominees for the role of Councillor.
Braeside resident Rob Tremblay is seeking elected office, following tenures as CAO in Whitewater Region, and most recently in Renfrew.
Aldene Styles is the most recent candidate to file; the first-timer submitted her papers Monday.
The Township’s website lists all nominations as “Unofficial”, with the final date for filing being August 21st at 2PM.
