This is the start of Canada Road Safety Week. The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is taking part in the seven day campaign, which targets high risk driving behaviours that put road users at risk.
OPP officers will be paying specific attention to the “Big 4”, which are impaired driving, distracted and aggressive driving, and lack of occupant restraint.
The campaign begins ahead of the Victoria Day long weekend, which traditionally sees a higher volume of traffic on the roads. The campaign runs until Monday, May 18.
