The Move for Youth Challenge is making a huge difference in the lives of young people across Eastern Ontario.
Together with National Bank and Centraide Outaouais, the incentive rallies communities every spring to raise awareness and funds for programs that support kids in need.
That’s Trisha Islam, Director, All That Kids Can Be, United Way East Ontario.
This year, from May 1-15, the region’s communities are stepping up to achieve a goal of 150 million steps.
She wants 1500 people to take part in the fundraising component- although that’s not a prerequisite to participate, and Move for Youth is not just for Ottawans.
Islam says getting involved is just a quick click away.
For those who want to channel their energies creatively, there are ways to do that.
The mental health crisis has been especially hard on kids, and fiscal constraints risk tying the hands of those who want to help.
