Lobster Poutine from Fat Les's Chip Stand, featuring mounds of lobster meat and a creamy hollandaise sauce
Renfrew is going to get first dibs on the gravy-covered goodness that is Poutine Feast this weekend.
A touring caravan featuring some of the best chip trucks in Ontario will kick off its 2026 tour this Thursday at the Visitor’s Information Centre off of O’Brien Road, as the tour’s vice president of marketing, Dave Conway, tells myFM they are thrilled with how much support the community has shown since first adding the town to its schedule in 2024.
Whether you prefer a traditional take or want to explore new horizons, the selection of award-winning variations of Canada’s signature comfort food will leave guests from the Ottawa Valley satisfied over four days of music, local vendors, games, and plenty of fun.
The tour is also a chance for the participating poutineers to earn some bragging rights as they try to win the crowd’s favour at each stop, and Conway says there are a few dishes to watch as the competition heats up throughout the weekend.
Poutine Feast usually starts its season earlier in the month in Petawawa, but Conway explains that they have moved that stop to late August to avoid the issues that come with opening so early.
In fact, Renfrew’s dates land just in time for the weather to stay consistently warm enough to keep the gravy flowing.
The event will open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm from Thursday, April 23rd to Saturday, April 25th, and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 26th.
