Another wet day in the Ottawa Valley will come with the added issue of lower visibility on local roads.
Environment Canada has paired a yellow fog advisory with a special weather statement for Thursday morning, as areas of dense fog will create possible stretches of near zero visibility in parts of the region while showers and thunderstorms bring as much as 10 to 20 millimetres worth of rain throughout the day.
Extended periods of rain have left the ground across the Ottawa Valley near saturation, limiting how much of today’s rain it can absorb.
The weather agency is urging the public to avoid flooded roadways and low-lying parts of the region, as water will likely pool in those areas.
