Everything is swinging towards the Renfrew Golf Club celebrating its 97th anniversary on time.
The club’s grounds crew will be spending the next few weeks putting the finishing touches on a few new changes on the course, as General Manager Grieg Burnie says members will have exclusive access to the first few tee times of the year when it opens in late April.
Despite the upgrades, golfers from across the Ottawa Valley can expect the same quality of play they have come to expect from the club despite some unique challenges that come with playing under spring conditions in a colder climate.
Burnie is also excited for the addition of new head professional Chris Learmonth, who brings 35 years of experience as a PGA of Canada member to the club. His particular focus on player development and shop management will pay off for members through RGC’s expanded lesson plans, as well as in new renovations and merch coming to the pro shop.
Burnie also invites the community to experience the new-look President’s Cup as it brings back a paradise of food, drinks, and entertainment during and after the tournament on May 29.
Memberships are still available, but Burnie says they are steadily getting closer to their hard cap for the year. Head to the RGC website to secure your spot.
