The Renfrew Wolves are out of the hunt for the CCHL’s Bogart Cup after a short battle with the Ottawa Jr. Senators.
Renfrew dropped game five of their first round playoff series on Saturday night, losing 6-2 on the road to end their season. The Jr. Senators jumped out to a three-goal lead in the first period that the Wolves were unable to overcome, despite the offensive efforts of Joshua Lalande and Ethan Ross. Wolves defenseman Toby Almstedt assisted on both Renfrew goals to earn third star of the game honours.
The quick playoff exit caps off a season that was a push in the right direction for the Wolves, who returned to the postseason just one year after finishing at the bottom of the league’s standings last year.
