Routes through Renfrew might suffer as road salt supplies continue to dwindle across the province.
Town staff are warning that their stockpile of road salt is nearing its end and their supplier is unable to provide more following a harsh winter that has increased demand across Ontario.
As the community waits for warmer weather, public works crews will be prioritizing main roads, hills, and high-traffic areas and will be using sand and other alternatives to stretch the remainder of their salt supply.
Lower-priority roads, sidewalks, and parking areas might see lower levels of service ahead of warmer spring weather.
