The Smiths Falls Junior Bears await the winner of the EOJHL’s Martin Division Final series between the Casselman Vikings and the Ottawa Junior Canadians to see who they will be playing against for the Leagues’s Barkley Cup.
The Junior Bears swept the Renfrew Junior Timberwolves to advance, following their 10-3 mauling of the host squad last night at the myFM Centre in Renfrew.
The score was tied at 2 after the end of the first period, but the usually well-disciplined Timberwolves spent a total of 76 minutes in the box on the night, allowing the Bears to score on three of their six chances with the man advantage.
The Junior Bears peppered Renfrew goaltending with 42 shots on the game.
Renfrew, who had played giant-killers after toppling the Arnprior Packers in its seven game Division semi-final, last hoisted the Barkley Cup in 1993.
