Keeping things clean is what has kept Renfrew’s Jr. B Timberwolves alive in the Barkley Cup playoffs.
General Manager Mark Robillard says the lesson to their players has been clear all year long: stay out of the penalty box if you want to win games, as seen when the Timberwolves most recently outlasted the Arnprior Packers in a thrilling seven-game series to advance to the Richardson Division Finals.
Staying poised has been top of mind for the Timberwolves dating back to their early exit from the 2025 playoffs, as Robillard and his coaching staff have continued to preach the benefits of playing disciplined hockey.
He credits this year’s success to the fact that the team has bought in to their philosophy.
Their next challenge will be against the Smiths Falls Bears, a series Robillard believes could go the distance with how deep the talent runs on both sides of the ice.
Game one of that EOJHL Richardson Division Finals matchup gets underway in Smiths Falls this Thursday, March 19th, at 7:30pm.
