The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation are announcing that there will be an official swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected leadership following a recent election.
The ceremony is scheduled for April 1 at the Makwa Community Centre in Pikwakanagan and will mark the start of a new term for the Nation’s Chief and Council.
Organizers say the event will include the formal oath of office, remarks from the newly sworn-in Chief and recognition of the responsibilities the incoming council members will carry as they begin serving the community.
The gathering is expected to bring together community members, partners and members of the public to witness the start of the Nation’s new leadership term.
