Bradyn Waterman and companion, Innis, led the way at the 2025 Renfrew Lions Club Walk for Guide Dog
The Renfrew Lions Club is doing some early fundraising as their annual Walk for Dog Guides prepares to take off for charity in May.
Club Chair Diana Larocque and Co-Chair Sara Smeltzer are thanking the many community sponsors who have provided the many amazing prizes up for grabs during their ongoing Facebook auction, which is open to the public through this Saturday, March 14th.
The money raised this week will be part of the total proceeds from the May walk, which will be used to help educate and train dogs to help people with disabilities navigate their world with confidence and independence.
Both are excited to bring the auction back for another run, noting that part of the thrill is keeping an eye on the bids as they roll in.
Larocque and Smeltzer say that anyone who misses out on the fun of the auction can still help the local Lions Club along the way, as they are set to collaborate on a variety of smaller fundraising events in the build-up to the Dog Guides Walk.
The Renfrew Lions Club’s annual Pet Valu Walk for Guide Dogs will depart from Ma-te-Way Park through the nearby trail system on Sunday, May 31st.
