TODAY: The Douglas Recreation Committee presents an Irish Pub Night- Friday, March 6th from 5-7 pm at the Douglas Rec Complex along Highway 60! Drop by for live music by Kyle Felhaver. Plus, a cash bar will be available for refreshments. Proceeds support the rehabilitation of the Douglas Outdoor Rink.
TODAY: The Little Red Wagon Winery, C-165 Calumet Road West in Shawville, presents Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter David Francey this Friday evening! Called “one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers” by the Toronto Star, Francey’s wry humour and astute observations combined with his openhearted singing style have earned him a loyal following. Show tickets available for $57.75 each through the winery’s website.
TOMORROW: Start your weekend off right with the Horton Winter Carnival! Bring your appetite early for the famous $10 Shanty Breakfast inside the Horton Community Centre on Castleford Road starting at 8:30 am before a full day of activities both indoors and out until 2:00 pm! Featuring: horse-drawn sleigh rides, a meet-and-greet with Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters, and the Mad Science Fire and Ice Show.
TOMORROW: Special Olympics Renfrew and the Renfrew OPP host this year’s local Polar Plunge from 11:00am to 2:00 pm this Saturday, March 7th! Join friends and family in taking a frigid dip into the water outside the OPP Detachment on O’Brien Road to raise funds supporting the local Special Olympics chapter’s programming and equipment needs.
TOMORROW: Marv’s Spring Fling at the Wing is on for one more big party this Saturday, March 7th! Doors open to one of the biggest parties of the year at the Renfrew Wing, 164 Argyle Street South, at 7:00 pm. Drop by for a night of fun, dancing, and partying in support of the Robbie Dean Centre and Valley Animal Rescue with the help of the Riley New Band and the Fabulous Cash for a Cause Show with featured guests Ryerson Warren and Austin T. O’Keefe! Admission by donation.
