As we get closer to the spring thaw, some rural Ottawa Valley communities want people to mind how much their hauling on local roads.
The townships of Admaston/Bromley and Madawaska Valley say by-laws reducing load limits on roads within their boundaries will be strictly enforced between March 1st and May 31st, or possibly longer if conditions warrant.
Residents and visitors can expect signage limiting vehicle loads to 5 tonnes per axle on appropriate local roads over the next few days, depending on the weather.
