Renfrew’s Jr. B Timberwolves were able to hold on for dear life in game three of the EOJHL Wild Card round against the Athens Aeros, beating them 5-4 in overtime on Wednesday night to complete the series sweep.
The Timberwolves looked like they would cruise to an easy win at first, staking themselves to a four goal lead in the first half of the game only for the Aeros to score four unanswered goals of their own to force overtime. Renfrew’s Ian Burnett would score the overtime winner to earn 1st Star of the Game honours.
Renfrew will now move on to face their old rivals, the Arnprior Packers, in the Richardson Division Semi-Finals. Games times are to be determined.
