Renfrew will join a growing network of communities braving the cold with the goal of doing good for locals in need this weekend, and you’re welcome to join in.
Concerned citizens will trek along Renfrew’s downtown strip this Saturday, February 28th, as the Renfrew and District Food Bank participates in the Coldest Night of the Year, a fundraising effort that has raised over $75,000,000 for various causes across 190 Canadian communities since its inception in 2011.
The food bank continues to accept donations as they sit above 60% of the way towards their $20,000 goal with over $12,000 raised as of Monday afternoon. 100% of the net proceeds will support their mission of alleviating food insecurity and poverty in Renfrew and the surrounding areas by providing adequate emergency food supplies to people in need.
You can donate to the cause or pledge to volunteer during their walk through the downtown core through the Coldest Night of the Year website.
