Renfrew’s Jr. B Timberwolves were able to escape Athens with a crucial 4-3 overtime win on Tuesday night.
Timberwolves forwards Parker Evans and Blake Egan carried the offence, each scoring a pair of goals en route to taking a 2-0 series lead over the Aeros in their best-of-five EOJHL Wild Card round series. Goaltender Dylan Elliot made 31 saves on 34 attempts, settling down after a second-period barrage by Athens and staying solid through to the extra frame to earn the win.
Renfrew can sweep the wild card series with Athens on home ice this Wednesday, February 25th, as Game Three against the Aeros is at the myFM Centre. Game time is 7:30 pm.
