The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (AOPFN) launched a new website.
The project took over eight months of work and communications lead, Kyle Robinson, is very pleased with the result.
Robinson worked directly on the website’s backend to build what you see now on the front page; when Robinson was first hired on with the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan he vowed to expand communications for not only the people living on the First Nation, but also for people across the Ottawa Valley.
When he first started working in the communications department, Robinson was repeatedly asked how the existing website can be improved.
Once a game plan was assembled work on the revamped site started right away.
A new feature Robinson is particularly proud of is the home-grown content on display rather than relying on stock sources.
The new website is stocked full of information and features.
AOPFN posts their newsletter on the website, they also post job opportunities within the First Nation, which Robinson said were difficult to find on the old system.
This new digital platform opens up many new options for AOPFN to promote their culture and services and accessibility was a big factor when Robinson was working on the site.
Robinson said he encourages everyone in the Valley to check out AOPFN’s “one stop shop.”
The website is live and you can check it out by clicking or tapping here.
