A water main break has caused some disruptions for residents in Cobden this morning.
According to Facebook posts from the Township of Whitewate Region, the break occurred on Gould Street on Thursday, Jan. 22.
As a result of the break, a boil water advisory has been issued for the Cobden Drinking Water System by the Renfrew County District Health Unit due to a loss of system pressure.
Residents are advised to bring their water to a rolling boil for a full minute before using it for domestic purposes like drinking, making baby formula or brushing their teeth.
Repairs on the water main break are currently underway, and township staff say the system is expected to be re-pressurized later this morning.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Cobden Public School is also closed today as a result of the water main break.
