Today (Jan. 22) the Sûreté du Québec (Quebec police services) announced they would be cracking down on dangerous snowmobile driving.

Quebec police will be patrolling trails and trail entrances for dangerous snowmobile operation.
They have launched an awareness campaign with the slogan: “On the trails, I take my responsibilities”
The campaign also includes some safety tips, including:
- Don’t travel alone
- Always plan your trip properly; plot a route and check for trail status
- Maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and others on the trail
- Always ride to the right-hand side of the trail
- Always wear proper hear including gloves and helmet
Quebec police say no snowmobile-related deaths occurred during last year’s enforcement of this operation.
