The provincial government’s phasing out of work-from-home procedures for most employees will be complete this week.
According to a new statement from Minister Caroline Mulroney, starting on Monday, January 5th, all employees of the Ontario provincial government will be required to work full-time in their office rather than from home.
This includes workers at places like the Youth Justice Services building on Mary Street in Pembroke and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services office on Agnes Street.
This is the last stage in a gradual process to return to the full-time in-office standard that began in the fall.
According to the statement, over half of Ontario’s public service workers already work in the office full-time. The remainder were required to work four days out of the week in office starting October 20th, 2025.
Mulroney says the transition back to everyone working in the office full-time “supports the government’s ongoing efforts to build a more competitive, resilient and self-reliant Ontario.”
