The Renfrew Legion has met a major milestone thanks to one last push over the line from the community.
Branch members are celebrating after paying down the balance on the amount owing on their furnace, a $30,000 cost that they have been steadily paying down over the past few years with the help of their Ladies Auxiliary and other community partners, including a recent $9,327.1 donation from George Jackson Toyota, which has covered the remaining balance on the project.
It’s the second generous contribution to the Legion in the past month, as they also received just over $9,000 from the local Tim Horton’s locations as part of their Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign.
