Even as Renfrew’s public library waits to learn where its budget will land for 2026, their staff still have plans to benefit local makers.
They are tabbing the Commonwell’s Learning & Engagement Accelerator Fund to develop “The Forge,” a vibrant, inclusive hub inspired by Renfrew’s heritage of craftsmanship and innovation that will offer a modern space designed to help people of all ages learn new skills, share ideas, and bring their imaginations to life.
All residents, regardless of income, age, or ability, will gain access to tools like 3D printers, sewing and embroidery machines, design software, robotics kits, and multimedia equipment to learn hands-on skills, explore creative outlets, and collaborate on projects that celebrate local identity and ingenuity.
The library expects the Forge to be completed by March of 2027.
