Renfrew families will get a chance to ring in the new year without having to worry about the young one’s dozing off before the ball drops on 2025.
Frew Year’s Eve will make its return to the myFM Centre’s community hall this Wednesday morning, providing the community an accessible way to celebrate the end of the year, according to town programming assistant Carrie Cunningham.
The event, which has proven to be a popular addition to the local events scene since first being introduced, will kick off with a full slate of breakfast before the town opens up the rink for public skating, plus face painting, storytime, crafts, magic with Michael Bourada, and a pizza lunch before a New Year’s countdown at noon.
Cunningham calls the event a winning formula at a price that’s hard to beat.
Frew Year’s Eve has flirted with some extreme weather in recent years, and Cunningham admits that there is always the chance the forecast could affect what is in store for Wednesday. However, the town’s programming team has their backup plans in place—just in case.
The end of Frew Year’s Eve will mark a brief break in the town’s signature events schedule, which will return for Renfrew’s annual Frewfest outdoor festival in mid-February.
