Local firefighters passing the boot around have made a massive impact on keeping families warm this winter.
Renfrew’s Professional Firefighters Association says their participation at the annual Santa Claus parade collected $1,461 in change and other donations as they prowled among the floats along that evening’s route through the downtown core.
The association would then top off that donation to an even $2,000, which has since been given to the Renfrew Snowsuit Fund to be used as part of continued efforts to provide new and gently used winter outerwear for residents in need.
