Firefighters in Haley Station have revealed more details on support set to benefit area students.
Starting in 2026, the Haley Station Fire Hall will begin awarding proceeds from their recently established Roy Church Memorial Bursary, offering $500 each to three graduating secondary school students in Whitewater Region who are enrolling in an emergency-services-related field of study.
The bursary, which is named for the fire hall’s former long-time captain, the late Roy Church, was given its start thanks to “tremendous support and generosity” that brought in $1,500 at the first-ever Roy Church Memorial Cornhole Tournament back in May.
Interested students can get more information about the bursary through their nearest public secondary school.
