The driving force behind Renfrew’s magical evening with Santa says it’s hard to find room for improvement over this past weekend.
Janyne Fraser says the town’s annual Santa Claus Parade was a smash hit according to people she met along the downtown core on Saturday, as milder weather kept the night from being unbearable for the volunteers and float riders who pulled together to keep all the fun happening that night running smoothly.
She says the nearly full line-up of floats that dazzled the hundreds in attendance as they made their way down Raglan Street South was able to make the trip in around 45 minutes total, avoiding what some people might consider too much of a good thing.
Speaking of the floats, Fraser was thrilled with the effort put into this year’s selection, adding that the procession shows people are still interested in putting on a show to welcome in the holidays.
The only major change people might see going into 2026 is a little more organization at the start of the parade, keeping traffic away from near the Armouries to allow floats a cleaner exit from the fairground.
