Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend, and the town of Renfrew says there’s still time to be a part of the fun.
The annual Santa Claus Parade will dazzle onlookers along the downtown core starting at 5:30 pm this Saturday, December 6th, taking off from the Renfrew Armouries and heading down Raglan Street South before ending at Munroe Avenue as the party continues with pictures with Santa and treats at the Renfrew Legion.
Organizer Janyne Fraser continues to welcome people looking to support the magic of the evening to reach out to her at the town’s Recreation Department to find out how you can play a part.
With local temperatures expected to dip well below freezing alongside a notable wind chill that evening, Fraser recommends families dress warmly and seek out ways to beat the cold that local support groups have kindly set up in preparation for the parade.
Onlookers are also encouraged to bring along donations for the Renfrew and District Food Bank, who will accept cash donations, food items, personal hygiene products, and baby items like food & diapers.
