“Love Is Not the Answer” is a new film currently being shot in Carleton Place… directed by Michael Cera and starring Pamela Anderson. It’s an absurdist comedy-drama, exploring loneliness and human connection in the modern age.
But if your question is, “Is that the same movie that also has scenes being shot in Arnprior”- don’t bring it up at local Town Council!
That’s Matt Cassidy, Locations Manager for 1D Linta Productions, and the firm’s application document for its requested Noise Bylaw Exemption Public Meeting contains all the salient details of the shoot.
So let’s not let the cat out of the bag!
As well, motion picture production is not yet a booming business in the Town Where the Rivers Meet, as it is with neighbouring municipalities.
For Christmas themes alone, Almonte leads with 20 movies, followed by Carleton Place- with one more than a baker’s dozen- while Arnprior lags at six.
So there Cassidy was, cap in head at Council in deference to the local 9PM noise bylaw.
Let’s face it, movie crews are not “elbows up” confrontational.
1D Linta Productions wants to film until 11PM December 1st on Rock Lane, and until 1230AM the night of December 2nd on Elgin Street- but won’t be handing out ear plugs.
Both elected representative, and the movie production crew look forward to further economic activity of this nature, as residents strive to see our Town on TV.
